Es gibt keine Garantie, dass du danach jemals einen Wettkampf gewinnst, aber du wirst verstehen, wie das Publikum funktioniert und welchen Einfluss du darauf hast.

This is a workshop where we will take a look at the core building blocks of a scene. We will focus on movement, dialog and connection with scene partners. We will work on each of these element separately to give them the attention they need. We will deconstructed scenes and shine a light on every move, every line of dialogue, every emotion. We will make the scene go slower, but more intense and interesting by doing just on thing at a time.

Der Begriff „Talking Heads“ ist vielen in der Improszene bekannt. Oft erklären wir Figuren lieber, als sie zu sein. Spielen Emotion, statt sie zu fühlen und wissen in einer Szene dann irgendwie nicht genau worum es eigentlich geht. In diesem Workshop lernen wir, wie wir von „redenden Köpfen“ zu „fühlenden Körpern“ werden können und warum es wichtig ist, einfach mal die Klappe zu halten und dem Moment zu vertrauen.

The term “game” can describe many things – board games, children’s games, video games … they all have a lot of things in common: they’re usually fun, have a set of rules and have patterns. It’s the same with games within an improvised scene! We’ll often hear improv teachers say “find the game of the scene”, which is a terrible way of describing the process, because it suggests we’re too stupid to invent it ourselves (if I paraphrase Susan Messing). In this workshop will find ways of exploring “the game” and have lots of fun with patterns!
